Per Texas PTA Bylaws every PTA has to review Local Bylaws and Standing Rules. Thank you to our Review Committee for taking on this task. The committee is making some recommendations to amend some of the Bylaws and created Standing Rules for Callison PTA. This changes and Standing Rules can be seen here and on our Callison PTA Facebook page.

A vote on these changes will be conducted at the General Assocation Meeting on February 2nd.

Callison Elementary PTA's 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat is October 27 6:30pm – 8pm!  The Callison PTA Trunk or Treat Committee is excited to make this another fun, family-friendly event! This event will take place in the front parking lot of the school located at 1750 Thompson Trail  Round Rock, TX 78664

We are looking for businesses or individuals to decorate a trunk at pass out goodies.

This year we are supporting the Teal Pumpkin Project  The Teal Pumpkin means you offer non-food goodies (stickers, tattoos, glow sticks, etc.) for the Trunk or Treaters who have food-allergies.  You can still offer candy but make sure to keep items separated in 2 different bowls. It is your choice whether or not you want to participate in the Teal Pumpkin project .

If you are a business, you are welcome to advertise and pass out promotional items to the adults too.

Last year we had a HUGE turnout! Our trunk ran out of candy/goodies 3 times! Plan accordingly. Last year we planned for  250-300 children and this year we are expecting maybe 400.

The kids will be voting for their FAVORITE TRUNK. The prize for the WINNING TRUNK is 4 movie passes & a $40 voucher to THE ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE!

Boy Scout Pack 1145 will be selling food and drinks.  Kona Ice

will be selling snow cones.

Infinity Soundlab will be DJing so take a break and dance!

If you are interested in participating please contact the chair of the event, Jessica Arceneaux at

Callison PTA hosted their first event of the season. On September 8th we invited all of our families out to a Family Game Night. While the dj played fun, lively music, teachers, parents, students and even some grandparents came out and enjoyed games like kerplunk, angry birds, hungry, hungry hippo, giant jenga and much more. All PTA members got to enjoy a free bag of popcorn for attending the festivities and every teacher and student in attendance collected a house point. Altruismo came out witg the highest number of attendees!

Thank you to all of our volunteers for helping make our event such a success! Thank you to everyone who came out to have fun as one big Callison family!

Little Free Libraries are a global phenomenon. The small, book exchanges currently number more than 44,000 around the world in 70 countries- from the United States to Iceland to Tasmania. Now, Callison has two of it's very own Little Free Libraries. With these LFLs Callison joins the movement to share books, bring people together and create communities of readers.

The members of the 2015-16 PTA donated 2 Little Free Libraries to the students of Callison Elementary. Under the direction of Callison art teacher Kim Block, the libraries were painted by students and parent volunteers. The Little Free Libraries will be stewarded by the Callison PTA and Laura Trellue the Callison Elementary Librarian.

The PTA donated 2 little free libraries, because they felt it was important to have one to fill with children’s books and then a 2nd one to fill with chapter books for the older students.

“We wanted students to have access to books to read at any time of the day. When a student is done with a book they can bring it back, or if they love the book they are welcome to keep it and build their home library or pass it along to a friend,” Jessica Arceneaux.

The Little Free Library nonprofit organization has been honored by the Library of Congress, the National Book Foundation, and the American Library Association, and Reader’s Digest, named them of of the “50 Surprising Things We Love about America.”

Each year, nearly 10 million books are shared in Little Free Libraries. To learn more, please visit
